Before the call

Before your next meeting, do nothing for 2 minutes

Don’t check one more message. Don’t open one more tab. Take two minutes to arrive before you respond.

Pause before the meeting

Best used before calls, 1:1s, reviews, and difficult conversations.

Arrive before you enter

Meetings often start before we are actually there.

We join while finishing a message. We listen while thinking about the previous call. We respond while still carrying the noise of the last task.

This is a tiny pause before you enter the room.

For two minutes, don’t prepare. Don’t rehearse. Don’t check Slack. Don’t scan your inbox. Just stop touching things.

Then join your meeting with a little more space between the stimulus and your response.

After the pause

You arrived.

Now enter the meeting a little slower, a little clearer, and a little less automatic.
